Published 12/23 & 12/24:  Seattle Fashion Daily Isn't it a given that coats play a major part in fall and winter collections? Well, this year coats have gone far beyond the role of being a staple piece, and have moved fashion more towards being a "statement piece".  Coats have been big news on all the catwalks, and have become a central focus of the wardrobe.  They are helping pave the way to a more laid back approach to styling. Outerwear inspiration comes not just from fashion icons, but also from decade influence.  The 60's decade is alive and well, and is one of my favorites to reinvent style from.  For daytime outerwear, swing coats and fake furs were popular for young women.  Fashions in the early years of the decade reflected the elegance of the first lady Jacqueline Kennedy, and who doesn't adore her style?!? This fun swing coat can be sewn from a basic flare coat pattern. I added a pleat in the back

HOLIDAY OUTFIT GUIDE: PART TWO

HOLIDAY OUTFIT GUIDE: PART TWO - Read more »
The cooler Northwest temperatures are here, and it's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas everywhere you go!  I'm thankful there isn't a huge temperature variation and a gal can still pull out the short skirts!  The waterfront here is breathtaking anytime of year! I hope everyone is having a great time shopping, and enjoying all the festivities of the holidays!  I posted a casual outfit a few days ago.  You can step  up the glitz by adding a higher heeled boot, and a skirt made from a finer fabric such satin chintz.   Also if you are a sassy diva like me, throw in some fur with a scarf!  I made the scarf with faux fur and felt.

QUICK GUIDE: ROCK A PAIR OF JEANS WITH THE PERFECT FIT! - Read more »
Do you go shopping for jeans and sometimes want to pull your hair out from frustration? I'm sure you've heard the saying "If momma's not happy, nobody is happy!"  I feel that way about jeans.  If my derriere is not feeling comfy in them, the rest of my body is not happy . There are boyfriend jeans, jeggings, slim, cigarette, wide leg, and  the list goes on. When chosen right, jeans can make you look slimmer and sexier. However, an incorrect choice can give you a tasteless, and sloppy look.  The unending selection  allows every lady to sport an amazing pair of jeans and let her personality shine!  I've included a quick measuring guide from Nordstrom.com, to help get the perfect fit.   I am wearing the brand I feel my absolute best in ... MISS ME, they fit like a gl
