Plaid is the go to fall and winter staple, why did it take me so long to wear it?!? It's showing up in street style everywhere. Alright confession time...it's my first time to own a plaid shirt! It has never been a print that I was drawn to. I did finally cave and buy one. Now my status as a Seattlelite has been solidified!
I have to make myself think "dressdown" mode! The asthetic here in the NW is definitely more casual and sporty. I grew up in Vancouver BC where the styles are more classic and dressy. My goal this year is to add more casual "laid back" style to my wardrobe. I love to dress up, but sometimes comfy is the way to go.
Pairing a plaid shirt with jeans works best, or with a pair of chic leggings. Add some layers and your favorite booties, and you are set to go! A puffer vest also looks fabulous with checkerboard print.
Another first for me...wearing a beanie..Ha. I used to say I would not be caught dead in one! That's what I love about reading other blogs, it inspires me to try styles I normally wouldn't! How about you, have you ventured out into new territory with your style?
Have a very fashionable weekend!
xo Valerie
