When I think of iconic brands, several names come to mind such as Chanel, Ralph Lauren, Oscar de le Renta, Louis Vuitton,  and the list goes on.  What makes a brand iconic? It takes place by way of a  product becoming timeless through its heritage.  These products are present in every collection as best sellers.  Iconic models are seasonal reinterpretations.

Ralph Lauren-1939
Ralph Lauren is another favorite of mine.  His garments are made with an elegant touch, but at the same time sporty.  The polo shirts for men are one of the iconic products of this brand.  Women's apparel is also popular along with fragrances, home d├ęcor, and suitcases.  I love these classy sweater dresses!

When I see plaid I get the warm fuzzies, feel cozy, and want to bundle up by the fire with a good book.   Plaid has been out of the loop for awhile and has returned with huge popularity here in the Northwest.  Fall predicts a demand for pattern, and plaid is leading the way.

This criss- cross print started out  as a blue-collar trademark, and edged its way into high fashion through the ‘90s grunge-rock movement. This trend started in Seattle, and moved across the United States.  A well known designer Vivienne Westwood defined plaid for the punk scene.

I totally adore pea coats. They are a timeless classic for men and women.  The history of this favorite style goes back to the British Navy.  The jacket was used by sailors as early as 1700.  The oversized buttons would have a nautical design of an anchor and rope on each one.  The large collar was always turned up to protect the neck from the icy sea breeze. The coat remains popular because of its traditional style and keeping with military trend.

Vogue has two options in their new pea coat pattern( #9041) for men.  Both of these would be a great gift for your favorite guy sewn up in Melton wool or felted wool.

I am in love with this variation, cape style with some flair! So classy and chic!
