MY 3 FAVORITE DESIGNER BRANDS AT MAGIC FASHION VEGAS

Hello lovelies! The weekend is here and finally I have time to post some photos of my experience at MAGIC, the global fashion trade show held in Las Vegas. It was my first time, and what a mah-ve-lous experience it was!  I think next time I will have to hire a tour guide to help navigate the humongous buildings and oodles of booths!  I spent a lot of time drooling over the new collections arriving for spring in the next few months!  Most of the items were available for order only by wholesale purchase, soooo that was truly a blessing.  My bank account could've suffered some serious damage!

There were thousands of brands, designers etc. to check out, but these are the three that I totally fell in love with!  1)Ya Los Angeles 2) A'reve  and  3) Coffee Shop Coats.   Other great perks of the show- being able to attend seminars to learn more about the business of fashion, and great networking opportunities.

A few days before Magic started, we were able to check out a smaller scale trade show call "The Off Price Show"- A glitzy girl's paradise!   The booths of jewelry and accessories were unending! Most of the vendors there offer Cash and Carry, so I did come home with some sparkle!  My beautiful friend Cristy seen here, loading up for the grand reopening of her boutique in May "Free Bird Style."

Have a fantastic weekend, I hope it includes shopping for amazing fashion!  As always, thanks for visiting!

WHAT'S YOUR STYLE CRUSH?

Good day  lovely peeps, hope this Valentine weekend is treating you well!  We have been blessed here in the Northwest with some very balmy winter temperatures.  I was so happy to pull out my cropped pants today.  Boyfriend style  jeans are so versatile and comfy, and are my favorite style crush right now.  A lace pullover with a tank underneath complements them well for a casual  look.  I loved this outfit with red flats best, but the black pumps look fab too.

I will be back soon from Magic Vegas with some new outfit ideas for spring and pictures from the show.   Thank you for taking time to view my blog!

A FASHIONISTA'S GUIDE TO SURVIVING THE WINTER BLUES

I am always Hollywood dreaming, especially this time of the year when the sunny days in the Northwest are few. Thoughts of my trips there make me smile, and helps ease the mid winter blues.

If you have never made a trip to downtown LA to the many miles of shops, you are missing out! It is a fashion lover's paradise.  Deciding what to buy will certainly be your worst dilemma.  The choices are endless, and the prices are very reasonable.

Hollywood Blvd

This street has very unsusual and eclectic shops. It is one of my favorites for finding unique styles and people watching, never a dull moment!  Marilyn is there ready to pose!
Be sure and sneak over to Rodeo drive too, well .....it could get you into BIG trouble...just stay outside and window shop!

Hollywood Sign

Lastly, if you are up for a hike to the top of the world, head to the Hollywood Hills and start climbing.   OH MY GOODNESS, I thought I would die and never make it up!  Rattle snake signs and the continuous steep climb, almost deterred me from reaching the top.  The strenuous effort is totally  worth it for the breath taking view. It was the most exhilarating experience I've ever had!

Spring is on the way, I hope this brought some sunshine to your winter days! I can't wait for the spring/summer trends to hit the shelves!

2015: 8 WARDROBE ESSENTIALS FOR WOMEN IN LEADERSHIP

Images : Polyvore

Everyone's different tastes will dictate what wardrobe pieces are essential for your leadership style. There is no right or wrong list, but thought I would share my favorite go to pieces that keep me feeling confident as a woman who wants to lead and inspire.

1)Black blazer
2) Black pumps
3) Trench coat in neutral color
4) A pair of jeans
5) Pencil Skirt
6) Casual/dress black pants
7) White button down shirt in cotton with long sleeve
8) Black dress

Every lady's wardrobe contents are different.  Each one tells a story of who you are and is an expression of  personal style.  However when it comes to expressing yourself as a polished leader, there are certain staple pieces that should be taking up residence in your most adored room: your closet.(It's  definitely mine anyway!)

There used to be a time when  professionals were expected to put on a suit or very dressy attire for each day.  Everything has changed, today there are so many different perceptions of formal and business casual.  Tuning into the environment you are dressing for is crucial, otherwise you might appear underdressed, sloppy, or overdressed.

Many business professionals travel frequently, so having the right wardrobe choices available takes away some of the stress involved with getting from A to B.  When on travel, choose one dominant color.  To add a little pizazz and personality to your business dress, you can accessorize with brighter hues.  A statement necklace, scarf, and the right makeup can also liven up your look without looking too out of place.

Of course always being neat and presentable goes a long way. One of my favorite style experts, Lawrence Zarian quotes in his book 10 Commandments For the Perfect Wardrobe -"Wrinkled clothes portray the image of "I don't care or I don't know what I'm doing. It's dressing and acting like every day is a gift, that will make you stand out as a strong leader."
