The University of Washington is the oldest University on the west coast. It has been in existence since 1861,Several extensions are located around the Puget Sound, the main campus is located in Seattle in the University District. By Bus: There are more than 60 bus routes serving the University District. Most of them have stops on the campus.
By Light-rail: The UW light- rail stop is at Husky Stadium, a 45 minute ride from Sea-tac Airport. It will take you 15 minutes to walk from the UW light-rail stop to the Visitor Center.
By Car:
From Interstate 5 , Northbound or Southbound
*Important: DO NOT USE THE I-5 Express Lanes
- Take Exit 169 ( NE 45th St.) toward NE 45th Street
- Turn east on NE 45th
- Turn right on 15th Ave. NE and continue to NE 41st St.

Parking on the Campus
If you do decide to drive, it is recommended you arrive early in the day. There aren't a lot of options for visitor parking. When you arrive, visit one of the gatehouses to buy your parking permit. The attendant will direct you where to park.If you decided to visit on the weekend; parking is free after 12 p.m. on Saturday and all day Sunday.
