What to Wear for a Spring Day Trip

Day trips are so much fun, especially when spring arrives in the Northwest. I love them so much!  Traveling away from your local area for a day can feel like a short vacation.  The state of WA and the Seattle area, offer wonderful choices for one day excursions.  When planning a day out, it's fun to match your outfit to the location you are visiting. Recently I went on a  day trip to go shopping and see a movie. The goal is always comfort, along with being stylish.  In the past, I would never wear boots past the month of March. The ultimate list of what to wear now was revealed at the spring trend show at Neiman Marcus Bellevue at the Bravern. It was my first time to attend an event there, and it was exquisite from beginning til end. I had a very exciting night viewing the trend show, and checking out this beautiful store. It was also great to catch up with my local blogger friends! Destination "big ideas" right from the runway. Every piece seemed to make a unique statement, it was head turning fashion for sure!

Casual Winter Outfit

I hope wherever you are  today, you are warm and toasty! Punxsutawny Phil can just go crawl back in his hole! Ha, six more weeks of winter he says,  and wow it sure has made a blast here in western Washington. We had a huge dump of snow last night! In harsh winter temps, layering up is key to staying warm. The challenge- how to stay warm and still be stylish!  An outerwear vest is the perfect piece to style a casual winter look with. My new found love is puffer vests. I never used to like them, as they are so bulky and don't fit so well under a coat. I always felt like a puffer fish wearing one! This year they are super popular, and you can find them in every color and print you can imagine. Happy New Year! Recently I visited the Seattle Art Museum to view the stunning exhibit featuring the designs of YVES ST.LAURENT.                                                             Merry Christmas Friends, I hope you are having a wonderful holiday season so far!  It's the most wonderful time of the year, and for many it's also the busiest.  I was downtown last week to visit a very exciting exhibit. I will be posting about it, later in  December or early January!  If you follow my fashion posts, then you won't want to miss what I have to share! How to Style Faux Fur

Hello Lovely People, How was your weekend? Maybe you spent it shopping for the upcoming holidays, I did get a few gifts bought.   Here in the northwest the colder weather has settled in, so it is starting to feel more like fall for sure.   As much as I LOVE warm weather, it's nice to  pull out the furry, warm fuzzy pieces to liven up your wardrobe for the long days of fall and winter. Faux fur is always a great choice, and pairs well with casual or dressy outfits.    Layered on top of a long sleeved knit top and your favorite leggings, a fur vest can add a lot of glam to your otherwise simple outfit.  Some gals don't want to go all out with a fur coat, so a vest is a fabulous way to make style statement as well. D.I.Y Color Block Dress

Hello friends,   I 've been working on this color block dress awhile, and finally finished it.  The many days of hot  weather are to blame for my slacking. It's hard to glue yourself to the sewing machine when it's so nice out!  I saw this trendy color block dress on the runway at the NW sewing expo last Feb.  It definitely has a retro flavor and I fell in love with it!  The model looked fabulous in the orange color scheme, so I chose it as well.  Fabrics that work great for this pattern are linen blends, ponte knits, and crepe.  Although this color combination works best for spring and summer, it works for early fall too. The old rule about not wearing white after labor day no longer stands.  A jean jacket or blazer would pair great with this dress too. This café in New York City reached out to me for a collaboration and I am so glad they did! I received a beautiful white box in the mail with 6 delectable macarons.  I could hardly wait to tear into them. They tasted just as fabulous as they look! It was a lot of fun doing a photo shoot with the French cookies!
