6 Pacific NW Bloggers Share Summer Style Tips

9:11 PM

Hello Lovelies,

I 'm so ready for summer, how about you?  Cuteness overload is how I describe the styles available for summer 2017. I'm having a hard time deciding what to buy! If  you are having the same dilemma- hopefully this post inspires ideas for your next shopping trip.

This round up post features 6 fabulous bloggers from different areas of the Northwest. I asked each of them to share their favorite style essentials for warm weather.  If you get a chance, do check out their blogs for the latest trends and style stories.

All of them are very inspiring ladies, who love to help others with style advice. Cheryl is based near Boise Idaho. Nicole blogs from Alaska. Liang, Polly, Anne, and Monique are all my neighboring bloggers in the Seattle area.

In the Northwest Mountains of Idaho, summer essentials for me, are pieces that you can layer. It can be really hot in the sun while at the same time very cool in the shade. Light weight shorts, tops and long cardigans or dusters as seen in this picture are perfect. I love neutrals for summer because they seem so serene and cool. Hats are really important for keeping the sun off my face but also I just think they elevate any outfit and look so chic. A cross body bag is perfect for strolling through festivals and outdoor events because you can carry essentials without too much weight on your shoulders. Lastly a fun pair of sandals can really make an outfit pop

My summer essential is an Elizabeth Gillett Kimono wrap. They are so versatile. Wear them as a layering piece for that extra warmth on a cool summer night or put a belt on and turn it into a makeshift dress. Dressed up or down, I find myself in my kimono wraps more than any other summer piece.

High Latitude Style:  Nicole

In Interior Alaska, summer temperatures can be in the 90s in the afternoon. This weather happens when there is a strong high pressure system over northwest Canada that extends into Interior Alaska. Thus, cotton summer dresses are a stylish way to beat the heat. In the early evening, mosquitoes show up. The best form not to be dinner is to wear a thin non-black leather jacket. The blood suckers can't drill thru leather. People in the Interior won't wear long sleeves in summer except for cover-up. They leave the long sleeves for the tourists.

I would describe my style as clean lines mixed with boho chic - think bright colors and fun prints. I absolutely love classic pieces that will be in style for a few seasons, not just one. Some of my summer staples are a light denim jacket, a cute floral sundress or romper, a neutral wedge heel and mirrored aviator sunglasses. Anything classic white is also a favorite look of mine for summer!

I love wearing beautiful floral print dresses in the summer time. Maxi dresses are my favorite because they are loose fitting and are stylish and comfy at the same time. I like pairing them with open toe shoes that provide great comfort and style.

  1. I love hats, but don't wear them much. I think that needs to change though! Layering is definitely important in summer here too because it can be pretty chilly by Lake Michigan and quite warm even 5 miles away!
