Where to do a Girl's Night Out in Tacoma: Concert at the Dome

Tacoma is becoming one of the top destinations for music in the Pacific Northwest. If you're planning a girl's night out, and music is on the itinerary: look no further!  Destiny City is a hot music destination.

Tacoma Dome

A concert at the dome is the perfect choice for a girl's night out. My daughter and I recently attended the Chris Brown concert.  She was over the moon excited!  I never heard of him until a few months ago, ha ha!

The Dome is the happening place for top artists in the music industry.  Honestly, the city of Tacoma has countless music venues and activities for travelers.

For years people were afraid to venture downtown due to lots of crime and smelly industrial areas.  It's all changed and the city has been transformed in many ways.  I think Tacoma is totally underrated.  There are many reasons why you'll like Tacoma!

Best Western Plus at the Dome

Travel Tacoma was so gracious to host us at the Best Western Plus Tacoma Dome.  Staying here was a lovely escape and surprisingly quiet.  Our room had an amazing panoramic view of the Dome and  surrounding area.

This hotel is so perfect for a girl's trip or anything you have planned in Tacoma.  The walk to the concert venue is a stones throw away.  Ya never know when the weather in WA is going to act up and that it did!  It poured rain on the way over and worse on the way back.  It was a huge plus that the hotel was nearby.  We didn't get too soaked!

The beds are super comfy and we slept well.  If you leave anything behind, no worries, the room is well stocked with incidentals.

The lobby was my favorite part of the hotel.  Bright, cheery decor welcomes you in.  Also located in the lobby- the food! The breakfast buffet has a scrumptious selection of your favorite morning foods:  sausage, eggs, hash browns, biscuits and gravy, oatmeal, cold cereal, fruit, omelets, cold cereal, coffee, juice, muffins and other sweets.  I think they have everyone covered, even if you are picky!

Bonus: They serve the best coffee in the state! My favorite, Seattle's best.

There's also a lovely den room located to the side of the front desk.  Kick off your shoes and read the paper in a quiet, comfy space.

The Dome District

Besides being close to the Tacoma Dome, the hotel is within walking distance of several downtown attractions.  Chihuly's Museum of Glass, Tacoma Convention Center, the Washington History Museum and more.  The Dome District is a safe urban community to walk around and is bike friendly.

Lemay Car Museum is also one you don't want to miss.  It's next door to the Tacoma Dome and totally worth a visit.  The LINK Light Rail system is in the area too, one block from the hotel.
If you are a fan of the yummy candy Almond Roca the factory is in the district too.  A little shop is available to purchase your favorite flavors of Roca.

If you are planning to see a concert at the Tacoma Dome buy tickets asap.  The good seats go quickly. The Chris Brown Concert was packed out.  Fall is on the horizon and there is a great line up of talent coming this way.  The Jonas Brothers will be here in October.  I'm guessing those tickets are all gone by now, maybe not though!
